The Winning Properties, Memorial Center I & II and Tampa City Center, Will Now Compete at the International Level
TAMPA, FL, April 17, 2019 – The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) has awarded Cushman & Wakefield’s Tampa Asset Services team with two TOBY Awards for the Southern Region. Memorial Center I & II and Tampa City Center, both Cushman & Wakefield-managed properties, won the TOBY in their respective categories at the regional level.
The TOBY program, which stands for The Outstanding Building of the Year, is the most prestigious and comprehensive program of its kind in the commercial real estate industry, recognizing quality in buildings and rewarding excellence in building management.
Memorial Center I & II, at 4919 and 4921 Memorial Highway, won the TOBY in the “Suburban Office Park – Low Rise” category. Key members of the Property Management Team include Property Manager Katlin White, Assistant Property Manager Candace Richardson and Engineer Steve Stapleton. The property is owned by IP Capital Partners.
The TOBY Award for Suburban Office Park – Low Rise recognizes excellence in property management for a property consisting of two or more buildings no higher than 5 stories. Qualifying assets must also occupy at least five acres and be located outside the central business district or the downtown core area. Memorial Center I & II is a 183,047-square-foot, campus-style office property located in Tampa’s Town ‘n’ Country submarket. Building amenities include a café, furnished outdoor courtyard and covered parking garage.
Tampa City Center, at 201 N. Franklin St., won the “Earth Award.” Key members of the Property Management Team include Senior Property Manager Natalie Stoughton, Property Manager Deborah Scott and Chief Engineer Kevin Norton. The property is owned by Banyan Street Capital.
The Earth Award recognizes environmentally sound facilities and sustainable management practices. Tampa City Center, a 750,000-square-foot, 40-story, multi-tiered glass building, is one of Tampa’s most prominent downtown high rises. Completed in 1981, the building is LEED EB Gold certified, maintains an ENERGY STAR Label and holds the BOMA 360 Performance designation. The building’s award-winning program focuses on reduction of environmental risk, promoting indoor air quality and green cleaning methods, waste recycling and resource conservation.
“Our Tampa team works extremely hard to ensure Cushman & Wakefield-managed properties meet the highest standards in the industry, while strategically and creatively maximizing asset value for our clients,” said Mike Agnew, Senior Managing Director of Cushman & Wakefield’s Florida Asset Services team. “To have two properties recognized at the regional level is a tremendous honor and a testament to our firm’s market-leading approach to property and facilities management.”
Memorial Center I & II and Tampa City Center progressed to the Southern Region level after winning in their respective categories with BOMA Tampa Bay. They will now move on to the International TOBY Awards in Salt Lake City on June 25, 2019. Cushman & Wakefield also handles the leasing for both properties.
