TAMPA, FL – CareerSource Tampa Bay is inviting Hillsborough County youth ages 16 to 21 to participate in a summer youth employment program. The Young Talent Tampa Bay – Summer Job Connection program will provide part-time paid work experience for up to 400 Hillsborough County youth that meet eligibility requirements.
The Hillsborough County School District and Hillsborough County Commissioner Sandra Murman are partnering with CareerSource Tampa Bay to make the program a success. Murman sits on the CSTB Board. “The School District has committed to filling 100 positions,” said Michael Ramsey from Hillsborough County Public Schools and also sits on the CSTB Board.
Participants will be provided a six-week paid work experience opportunity in a targeted industry. Youth participating in the program will be paid $11.00 per hour and work a maximum of 24-hours per week. The program will run from June 10 to July 19, 2019.
The Summer Job Connection program will assist with career exploration, exposure to the world of work and provide extensive essential skills training through online and specialized workshops. The program offers youth an opportunity to participate in activities that are age appropriate, encourages them to take responsibility for their learning, become oriented to the workforce, and learn about new job experiences.
