Tampa, Fla. (April 8, 2019) – GTE Financial’s Yasmin Grullon was recently recognized at the CUNA Diamond Awards Banquet in Las Vegas, Nevada as the Business Development Professional of the Year.

This prestigious honor from the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) recognizes the individual who best exemplifies excellence in credit union business development.

“We’re extremely proud that CUNA bestowed this prestigious honor on Yasmin for her excellent business acumen and her contributions to strategically build the business of GTE Financial,” said Holly Markham, VP Community Engagement and Student Strategies. “We’re excited to see how she continues to develop strategies that bring quality partnerships that impact our local communities.”

The annual Diamond Awards rewards leadership excellence for credit unions across the nation in categories that include Marketing Professional of the Year, Business Development Professional of the Year, Lifetime Achievement, Rising Star, Excellence in Marketing & Business Development and Volunteer of the Year.

“Through our increased outreach in the community, there are thousands of individuals who have been provided a credit union option – many of which had no idea it was available to them,” said Grullon. “Many of the members we serve are individuals who thought they had no other option but to continue to utilize payday and predatory lenders. These same people, now have the knowledge and resources to help them achieve financial freedom.”

CUNA is a national organization for credit union professionals. They announced the winners on March 20‐23 at the 26th Annual Marketing & Business Development Council Conference.
