About The Perlman Music Program/Suncoast
The Perlman Music Program/Suncoast (PMP/Suncoast) cultivates audiences of all ages through classical music performances and education outreach programs, including hosting the annual Perlman Music Program Sarasota Winter Residency on the campus of USF Sarasota-Manatee. Through its relationship with PMP, founded by Toby Perlman and with a world-renown faculty, including internationally-acclaimed violinist and conductor Itzhak Perlman, PMP/Suncoast offers the public the unique opportunity to witness the talent and spirit of extraordinarily gifted and promising young string students and accomplished graduates.
Throughout the season, PMP/Suncoast brings alumni of PMP, now professional musicians, to our area for educational and outreach programs. PMP Alumni: In Schools takes the musicians into elementary, middle and high schools, as well as special needs schools, in Sarasota and Manatee counties to educate and interact with students and teachers. PMP Alumni: Around Town offers free or low-cost PMP alumni performances and events to people of all ages at local community venues.
