Bradenton, Florida (March 19, 2019) — Local Florida business SeaSucker, LLC is forever changing the centuries-old sport of cycling. The bike rack manufacturer has partnered with Dutch World Tour cycling team Jumbo Visma. The focal point of their partnership is SeaSucker’s state-of-the-art team rack, which fits nine full bikes and is a universal rack solution to all new, Mercedes-Benz models in the team’s fleet. Team Jumbo Visma’s use of the vacuum-mounted SeaSucker team rack signifies one of the largest technological advances to major Pro Tour races such as Flanders, Paris-Roubaix, and the Tour de France in the past decade. “SeaSucker is now the only consumer rack company to provide full-sized team racks in the pro-peloton,” stated SeaSucker owner Charles Casagrande. “Above all, we value innovation. The synergy between SeaSucker and Jumbo Visma has given us the opportunity to take our team rack and related products to the next level and make our mark on some of these classic cycling races that have been around for over 100 years.” |
Jumbo Visma has already become a force to be reckoned with, racking up numerous victories early in their season. Dylan Groenewegen, a 25-year-old Dutch rider, has won four stage victories, including an overall win at the Paris-Nice stage race in mid-March. Primoz Roglic – a former professional ski jumper turned cyclist – also won the general classification of the UAE Tour in early March. The quality of SeaSucker’s product and their “American-made” roots is what initially attracted Jumbo Visma to work with SeaSucker. However, SeaSucker’s willingness to continually adapt and innovate their team rack in order to meet the requirements of a World Tour team is what solidified their partnership. “SeaSucker developed an innovative system that replaces the old roofracks,” stated Richard Plugge, general manager of Team Jumbo Visma. “Their new modern way of thinking fits with the way we look at everything in our team.” SeaSucker also had a big decision to make in 2019 regarding its World Tour sponsorships. When asked why they ultimately chose Jumbo Visma, SeaSucker President Genevieve Casagrande explained, “For years outsiders have looked at both of our organizations as “up-and-comers” in our respective industries. Now that perception has reversed, we are both at the top of our game and are the organizations to beat. Both our companies are looking at one another and thinking ‘2019 is our year.’” SeaSucker joins an elite list of sponsors for Jumbo Visma including, Mercedes, Bianchi, Pioneer, Heineken, and Red Bull. |
