St. Petersburg Shakespeare Festival Presents a modern adaptation of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing in Williams Park, April 18-28, 2019.
St. Petersburg, March 14, 2019 – St. Petersburg Shakespeare Festival is proud to present an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing in a free outdoor performance. The festival engages the St. Petersburg community with outstanding live performances. Much Ado About Nothing is the second full-length production of the festival’s 5th season.
Much Ado About Nothing , directed by local theater artist Greg Thompson, will run Thursday-Sunday, April 18-28 at 8:00pm at the historic bandshell in Williams Park 350 2nd Ave N, in downtown St. Petersburg. The cast includes many members of the St. Petersburg Shakespeare Festival repertory company including Sarah Pullman-Atanacio as Beatrice, Matt Frankel as Benedick, Ryan Bernier as Claudio, Chad Jacobs as Don John, Brianna Larson as Borachio, Summer Kiesel as Sexton/Friar Francis, and Hayden Baker as Conrade. St Petersburg Shakespeare Festival is a non-profit 501c3, formed in 2014 with the goal to bring seasonal outdoor Shakespeare performances back to the St. Petersburg community. Conceived by USF St. Petersburg Alumna, Veronica Leone Matthews, St. Petersburg Shakespeare Festival presents two full-length outdoor performances yearly in fall and spring as well as a summer series “Studio Shakespeare” with staged readings rehearsed and performed in one day.
