Achieva Credit Union hosts a block party and sign unveiling for the community on March 30
DUNEDIN, Fla. (March 14, 2019) – Achieva Credit Union will host a community block party on March 30 to unveil “Achieva Way,” a new street name that replaces the section of Virginia Street, between Main Street and Keene Road, in Dunedin. The new name, created in partnership with the City of Dunedin, reflects Achieva’s significant role in the community.
Achieva has been woven into the Dunedin community since moving its corporate headquarters to Virginia Street in 2013. From dog lovers and their furry friends visiting Achieva’s Paw Park, to mothers and their daughters getting crafty at Achieva’s annual “Scrapbook Crop” event, the local credit union prides itself on finding ways to help its Dunedin neighbors.
“The newly named ‘Achieva Way’ reflects our commitment to the local community,” said Gary Regoli, president and CEO of Achieva. “Whether it’s a financial literacy workshop or a community shredding event, we’re proud to host events that make a difference for everyone.”
On Achieva Way, the community will also find the Achieva Paw Park – a 1.25-acre dog park that Achieva expanded in partnership with the City to help fill the need for a bigger dog park in Dunedin, since Happy Tails Dog Park closed earlier this year. In February, Achieva and the City also hosted a “Puppy Bowl” at the Paw Park featuring adoptable dogs.
“Achieva calling Dunedin its ‘home’ has meant so much to the City,” said Bob Ironsmith, director of economic development for the City of Dunedin. “From their support and sponsorship of events to the way they’ve created jobs locally, Achieva has been a model company in our community.”
Among signature community events held by Achieva are its Box Car Rally, Run for Good, Coconut Run, and Scrapbook Crop – all to benefit schools in Pinellas, Sarasota and Lee counties. Achieva has raised over $405,000 for local schools since 2010, and its employees have volunteered more than 30,000 hours in the community over that time, thanks to these initiatives.
The community is invited to join Achieva and the City of Dunedin at a free block party on Saturday, March 30, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to celebrate the naming of Achieva Way. The event, set for the area around Achieva’s headquarters at 1659 Achieva Way (formerly Virginia Street), will include live music, food, beer, kids’ games and a petting zoo.
