
Many programs within the Top 50 and Top 100 categories for all U.S. public and private universities
TAMPA, Fla (March 12, 2019) – Seventeen University of South Florida graduate programs rank among the top 100 in the country, including seven in the top 50, according to the 2020 Best Graduate Schools ranking released today by U.S. News and World Report (USNWR). The new rankings reflect the university’s rising trajectory of success.
Top 50 Rankings:
- Public Health – 16
- Rehabilitation Counseling – 27
- Doctor of Nursing Practice – 41
- Master’s in Nursing – 41
- Health Care Management – 43
- Environmental Engineering – 48
- Industrial Engineering – 48
Top 100 Rankings:
- Medical Research – 52
- Social Work – 70
- Civil Engineering – 76
- Computer Engineering – 77
- Education – 85
- Chemical Engineering – 85
- Engineering – 89
- Business MBA/Full-time – 95
- Electrical Engineering – 97
- Business MBA/Part-time – 99
Notably, four USF programs improved 15 spots or more from last year’s rankings – Chemical Engineering, Doctor of Nursing Practice, Health Care Management and Social Work.

While USNWR does not provide a new ranking for all graduate programs each year, several other previously ranked USF programs maintain a top 25 position:
- Industrial and Organizational Psychology – 2
- Audiology – 17
- Criminology – 22
In September 2018, USNWR ranked USF No. 58 among all public universities, USF’s highest ranking ever.
In deciding the rankings, USNWR’s examines a variety of factors including expert opinions about program excellence, quality faculty, research and students.
