Annemarie Masson’s ‘Transitions’ is Changing What an Art Show Should Be

March 12, 2019 by Post

On February 22nd, St. Petersburg saw how Montreal celebrates art, with Annemarie Masson’s solo art show at NOVA535, Transitions. Appropriately named as Annemarie has made St. Petersburg, FL her new home.

Transitions was a creative show like no other in St. Petersburg. It was the fusion of art, cultural experience with ballet and the enjoyment of nightlife with music, cash bar and a club environment at NOVA535’s beautiful and amazing venue. The atmosphere was of a night out with many options for stimulation, fun and a larger-than-life experience crossing many boundaries.

Attendees traveled from as far as Montreal, Miami and Naples to attend. The fusion of art, entertainment and nightlife redefined what a spectacular art show should be. It left the St. Petersburg art-loving community awe inspired and anticipating next year’s show.

Even the media took notice. Fox13 WTVT interviewed Annemarie Masson for their Made in Tampa Bay segment on February 27th (see video here).

“This show exceeded expectations! There was a crowd, the fun was palpable, the art jumped off the walls and the ballet performance was a great touch of extra artistic expression promoting the new building in the Warehouse Arts District of St. Pete. Sales were happening fast, if you wanted a painting you had better put that red dot down on it quickly!!! NAMI (the National Alliance on Mental Illness) had an entire wall of 16 paintings to help raise money for the cause. Next year promises to not only be larger, but more spectacular! Make sure you don’t miss it.” Annemarie Masson

Participants of the show included Diane Morton of WADA, NOVA535, NAMI, Black Crow Coffee. Flowers donated by Fat Beet Farm, Framing from the Frame Factory of Clearwater. Special thanks to Jeff of One Stop Print and Copy, in Clearwater; Eddie Vélez of Success by Design Marketing and Javier Ortiz Video and Photography and Bailey Gumienny, assistant organizer and curator.
