TAMPA, Fla. – The Economic Club of Tampa announces that the 2019 Mayoral Inaugural Ball benefitting the Hillsborough Education Foundation has been set for Wednesday, May 8, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Armature Works, 1910 N Ola Ave, Tampa, FL 33602. The black tie event is held every four years to celebrate past mayors and honor the incoming newly-elected mayor of the City of Tampa.
The ball this year is honoring former Mayors Bob Martinez, Dick Greco, Sandy Freedman, Pam Iorio, and Bob Buckhorn for their passion in leading the City of Tampa, the nation’s 51st largest city. The winner of the runoff election between Jane Castor and David Straz will be sworn in as the 59th Mayor of Tampa, on May 1, 2019.
From the ball’s first event in 2015 to today, the Economic Club of Tampa has funded 29 college scholarships through the Hillsborough Education Foundation (HEF).
“Our goal is to fund at least 20 more college scholarships for academically achieving Hillsborough County students who are at-risk financially,” declared Betsey Hapner, co-chair of the 2019 Mayoral Inaugural Ball.
All net proceeds from the ball will benefit Hillsborough Education Foundation.
“Thanks to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for becoming the presenting sponsor of the ball, there has been a record amount of funds raised so far. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers also plan to send players to the ball to pose for pictures and sign autographs,” said Hapner.
“We are very excited to have the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as our presenting sponsor and thrilled to have several players at the black-tie event to pose for photos,” said Dr. Sebastian “Buster” Castellano, co-chair of the 2019 Mayoral Inaugural Ball. “They will certainly add energy and fun to the event, as well as help to draw attendance and other sponsors.”
Tickets are available now, and there are several levels of corporate and table sponsorships available. More information about tickets and sponsorships can be found on Hillsborough Education Foundation’s website.
