University Area CDC Presents Free Innovative Solutions to Attainable Housing Summit

Tampa, Fla. – To address the critical community-wide issue of attainable housing the University Area CDC will hold the Innovative Solutions to Attainable Housing Summit on Tuesday, April 9, from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

With support from the Commission on the Status of Women and Hillsborough County, this free event will be held at the University Area CDC at 14013 N. 22nd St. Tampa, FL 33613.

“Attainable housing is a goal of the entire community and not the responsibility of a single entity or agency,” Sarah Combs CEO of University Area CDC.

Coffee, breakfast, and conversation will kick off the event, followed by a great lineup of speakers who will present on their expertise. After the speaker presentations, a panel discussion will follow. Speakers include:

Craig Vanderlaan Executive Director & Co-Founder of Crisis Housing Solutions speaking about container housing.

Claire Twomey CEO of Habitat for Humanity Lakeland will speak about tiny homes.

University Area CDC’s CEO Sarah Combs and Vincent Jackson CEO of CTV Capital and retired Buccaneers player will speak aboutmodular housing.

Mickey Jacobs Chief Marketing Officer for BDG Architects and 2013 President of the American Institute of Architects will speak on micro-apartments.

Celebrating over 20 years of community service, University Area Community Development Corporation (CDC) provides support for thousands of Tampa residents through youth programs, adult education and resource assistance.
