SARASOTA COUNTY – The Sarasota County Government Materials Management team recently earned the 2019 Supply Chain Pros to Know Award, as part of their ongoing efforts to create supply chain efficiencies and save
The award recognizes individuals and organizations that are committed to finding transformative processes for their supply chain.
For Sarasota County Government, the supply chain serves both the community and the organization, and the materials management team continually looks for ways to solve problems before they arise.
“I’m proud of this team’s efforts, including their dedication to saving money, reducing waste and providing the highest level of service possible,” said Jeff Lowdermilk, director of Sarasota County’s General Services.
The seven-member team recently found ways to reduce costs by extending the shelf life of PVC pipe, lessen the amount of waste that goes into the landfill by recycling bubble wrap, wood pallets
