Tampa, Fla. – Hillel Academy will honor grandparents through a variety of fun activities at the school, at 2020 W. Fletcher Ave., on Friday, March 8.
Planned activities for the day:
8:20 a.m. – Head of School Allison Oakes will present regarding Culture of Chesed (Kindness)
Presentations of the Pledge of Allegiance, Star Spangled Banner, Hatikvah (Israeli national anthem), and the hamotzi (המוציא) blessing, the prayer made over bread in Judaism.
8:25 a.m. – Breakfast served buffet-style
8:55 a.m. – Strings class will perform; Hebrew classes will present videos and posters on the Culture of Chesed (Kindness)
9:30 a.m. Kabbalat Shabbat
9:45 a.m. – Intergenerational Torah Writing with Rabbi Yochanan Salazar
10 a.m. to 12 Science demo; blankets made for homeless; Crayola Marker testing
