LONGBOAT KEY, Fla. — J.E. Charlotte Construction Corp., a Venice-based commercial construction company, recently began the exterior renovation project with all new site amenities for Tencon Beach, luxury waterfront condominiums on Longboat Key built in 1978.
Now underway, the centerpiece for the more than $1.1 million project includes a resort-style 950-square-foot pool with two swimming lanes and spa. The space will also be outfitted with dining and social areas, two fire pits and an outdoor kitchen.
As part of the refresh, a brand-new tennis court and shade structure will be added for residents, as well as a pavilion, pergola and a new entry into the Tencon Beach complex. Landscaping, irrigation, lighting and a four-foot precast fence will also be added to the condo community.
“Our team enjoys renovating prominent projects in the community, restoring them to their original luster and bringing them into the future with updated features,” said Jeff Charlotte, president of J.E. Charlotte Construction. “These residents will be able to enjoy these amazing amenities for years to come.”
DWY Landscape Architects was selected to update the grounds.
“We are excited about the opportunity to design these new spaces that will allow the owners and their guests to meet and socialize, improving the relationship between people and place,” said David W. Young, ASLA, principal of DWY Landscape Architects. “Our focus is to create distinctive environments that shape the way we live and provide the setting for memories that may last a lifetime.”
Located at 1511 Gulf of Mexico Drive in Longboat Key, the project is slated for completion in summer 2019.
The team at J.E. Charlotte Construction has worked on several clubhouse and amenity projects throughout its more than 20-year history, such as the new clubhouse for The Players Club and the Lakewood Ranch Country Club East amenity building – both completed in 2015.
