Tampa, Fla. – February 28, 2019 – Carlton Fields is pleased to announce that Tampa Shareholder Wm. Cary Wright was named a Fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers (ACCL) at the organization’s annual meeting held in St. Petersburg, Fla. from February 21 to 24, 2019.
Wright, who serves as co-chair of the firm’s Construction industry group and Construction Litigation practice group, joins his co-chairs, George J. Meyer and Luis Prats, as ACCL Fellows. The ACCL is a national organization of lawyers who have demonstrated skill, experience, and high standards of professional and ethical conduct in the practice, or in the teaching, of construction law and who have demonstrated a commitment to give back to the construction industry. Fellowship is extended by invitation only.
The ACCL provides its fellows with advanced professional workshops and educational programs and it identifies and contributes to the solution of major construction industry legal problems. It is a collegial forum for the exchange and development of ideas.
Wright has extensive experience representing clients in construction disputes, including construction claims, environmental and other sick-building syndrome issues, construction liens, insurance coverage matters, risk management, bond claims, and other contract disputes. His engagements have involved bridges, convention centers, stadium projects, high-rise condominiums, highways, hospitals, and hotels.
Wright also has substantial experience in contract drafting and contract review, including the preparation of owner-contractor agreements and contractor-subcontractor agreements. He also advised an aviation authority on its insurance program for a multi-billion dollar project. Wright is the recipient of The Florida Bar Construction Law Committee’s 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award. He is also a Fellow in the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, where he serves on the Public/Private Partnership Committee.
