(Feb. 26, 2019) — For the fourth consecutive year, the assisted living neighborhood at The Fountains at Lake Pointe Woods has been named deficiency-free by the Agency for Health Care Administration’s (AHCA) Division of Health Quality Assurance during its bi-annual survey. This classification means The Fountains has met or exceeded all state and federal standards for assisted living communities for four years and counting.
“Earning a deficiency-free survey is wonderful and incredibly rare,” said Peggy Beasley, executive director of The Fountains at Lake Pointe Woods. “We’re proud to say that we have done this for two consecutive surveys over the last four years. This is further evidence of the care and attention to detail that our associates put forth every day in caring for our residents and creating an environment where they thrive.”
AHCA is responsible for the licensure and regulation of health care providers in the state of Florida. The organization conducts routine inspections to ensure all providers are operating in compliance with applicable Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Code and federal regulations in a manner that protects the health and safety of their residents or patients.
During an inspection, surveyors review a sampling of clinical records, policies and procedures, staffing reports and other relevant documents. They also conduct interviews with residents, family members, staff, visitors, and/or volunteers.
“These surveys are typically unannounced, meaning that the level of care AHCA surveyors witness is the same care that our residents can expect on a daily basis,” said Beasley. “Creating a safe and healthy environment for our residents is our top priority and that is clearly reflected in our survey results.”
