Stories of Survival: The Florida Holocaust Museum Remembers Opens March 8th

February 26, 2019 by Post

Exhibition highlights the experiences of local Holocaust Survivors
February 26, 2019 [St. Petersburg, FL] —  Stories of Survival: The Florida Holocaust Museum Remembersopens Friday, March 8th at The Florida Holocaust Museum (The FHM). While each man, woman and child who survived the Holocaust experienced incomprehensible loss and suffering, each account is different. The FHM is dedicated to recording and retelling the experiences of Holocaust Survivors.
To that end, the Museum is still actively recording interviews with Survivors and their families, collecting original documents, photographs and objects from the Holocaust and sharing these invaluable resources with students, educators and our visitors. Stories of Survival: The Florida Holocaust Museum Remembers is an exhibition of just a few of the stories that have been shared with us.
“Recording and sharing the stories of Holocaust Survivors who came to build new lives in Florida is paramount to the fulfilling of the Museum’s mission. All of the Museum’s activities – from exhibitions to student tours to outreach programs – are based on the real-life experiences of Holocaust Survivors and victims. This exhibition is another opportunity to share individual accounts of the people who lived through the Holocaust,” said Erin Blankenship, The FHM’s Curator of Exhibitions and Collections.
Stories of Survival: The Florida Holocaust Museum Remembers opens to the public on March 8, 2019 at The Florida Holocaust Museum.
The Florida Holocaust Museum is located at 55 5th Street S, St. Petersburg, FL 33701.
