Bluetooth & Cell Phone Amplification
Elissa Moran, Outreach Director, Florida Telecommunication Relay Inc (FTRI), will join us and discuss Bluetooth technology and cell phone amplification. FTRI is nonprofit agency founded in 1991 for the purpose of administering Florida’s Free Amplified Phone program. Elissa was drawn to working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing people in 1998 after meeting her late husband, who was Deaf and communicated in American Sign Language. Elissa is proud to be considered a subject matter expert on adaptive telecommunications equipment and telecommunications relay service. She has put her knowledge, passion and energy to good use in ways such as serving on Maine’s Telecommunications Relay Service Advisory Council, the Maine Emergency Management Agency’s Steering Committee on Sheltering Special Needs Populations, the Maine Commission for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Late-Deafened, Maine’s Deaf Rights Group, and the national Telecommunications Equipment Distribution Program Association Outreach Committee.
