BRADENTON, Fla. — Neal Communities, southwest Florida’s premier, private homebuilder, recently donated $3,500 for local families to enjoy the wholesome community tradition of the Manatee County Fair, which took place Jan. 17 – 23, 2019.
For approximately eight years, the Lakewood Ranch-based builder has contributed to the 11-day festival that is packed with an endless variety of things to see, do and eat.
“Not only is the Manatee County Fair a wonderful family event, but it also showcases educational opportunities for local students with art, science, farm-related activities and contests,” said John Neal, president of Neal Land Ventures. “We are pleased to be an annual sponsor for an event that touches so many lives here in our region and is a Neal family favorite.”
For the past several years, Neal Communities has been a sponsor of Rock-It the Robot, a nine-foot tall, high-tech costumed character that has been a staple at the Manatee County Fair. He walks, talks and dances with the attendees and takes photos with fairgoers. A crowd favorite of all ages, Rock-It the Robot has his own built-in boombox that plays everything from pop to his own Robo-tunes.
“The Manatee River Fair Association would like to thank Neal Communities for helping make the 103rd Manatee County Fair a tremendous success,” said Daniel West, general manager of the Manatee County Fair. “Since 2002, Neal Communities has been a part of the fair by helping bring the best entertainment for the citizens of our county.”
The first fair was held on Feb. 28, 1916. Each year in January, the Manatee County Fair is held at the Manatee County Fairgrounds at 1303 17th St. W. in Palmetto.
