SARASOTA, Fla. — J.E. Charlotte Construction Corp., a Venice-based commercial construction company, recently completed the 300-square-foot in-ground pool amenity for doggie daycare guests at the Sarasota Bayside Pet Resort, a luxury pet resort that offers five-star amenities to its canine and feline visitors.
The project began in December 2018 and wrapped up this month. The construction team re-configured the outline and design of the outdoor daycare yards and installed the four-foot deep pool, which was specially designed for pooches to swim safely.
The always-supervised pool and wading area features shallow sections and steps for smaller dogs. A sloping sun deck was also installed to provide an easy entry and exit point for older dogs without causing additional physical strain. Its unique shape was developed to allow space for dogs to swim and play safely – without jumping on each other and always within the reach of staff members.
“Our Sarasota customers were aware of the popular pools we have in the other two locations,” said Robert Huff, co-founder of the Bayside Pet Resort along with his wife Lynne Huff. “We listened to our pet parents and built a new pool and sun deck for our Sarasota facility. The new swimming and wading pool made a big splash with our canine customers. Now, our nearby clients no longer have to drive out of their way or switch locations to let their dogs enjoy a dip in the pool.”
Built by J.E. Charlotte Construction, the Sarasota facility opened in 2012 at the former Rip Van Winkle bowling alley site and was the original of the three pet resorts. The Osprey location opened in 2016 followed the Lakewood Ranch facility in 2018.
The full-service facility offers five-star quality services, including overnight lodging, daycare, training and professional pet grooming.
