April 11 gala gathers a dozen gourmet restaurants and 1,100 friends of public broadcasting |
TAMPA, Fla. (Feb. 18, 2019) – With tickets now selling out each year, WUSF Public Media is capping the size of its hugely successful Longest Table annual gala. The al fresco dinner along the water in St. Petersburg has grown into the epicurean event of the season in Tampa Bay. This year, just 1,100 tickets will be available, so organizers are encouraging long-time fans, and newcomers to be ready to buy tickets. The Longest Table event gathers more than a dozen amazing restaurants from the wider Tampa Bay region. Guests buy tickets in advance for the restaurant they like. Bayshore Driveis closed to traffic, and chefs from each restaurant serve a four-course meal paired with wine to one section of a table that stretches nearly 400 yards from the Vinoy hotel to the Museum of Fine Arts. This is the annual fundraising gala for public broadcasting in Tampa Bay, and tickets range from $125 – $150, with an upper tier at some restaurants of $200 – $250. WUSF Public Media members will have first access to tickets starting March 11, with public availability beginning March 18.
