Diversity Gala moves to October 18 , 2019
Tampa, FL — The Tampa Bay Diversity Chamber of Commerce will host the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce
(NGLCC) 2019 International Business & Leadership Conference in Tampa, FL. This world-renowned conference is
the largest LGBT business event in the world and provides networking and engagement opportunities for business
owners in the LGBT community. The Tampa Bay Diversity Chamber of Commerce (TBDCC) in partnership with Visit
Tampa Bay won the 2019 bid over all other applicants to secure the NGLCC 2019 International Business &
Leadership Conference for the city of Tampa.

President & CEO of Visit Tampa Bay. “Hosting this event will elevate the entire Tampa Bay community in the eyes of
the world and showcase Tampa as a major LGBTQ destination capable of putting on a significant, high-quality
international event.”
To kick off The 2019 International Business & Leadership Conference the Tampa Bay Diversity Chamber will be
hosting the Opening Night Reception on the evening of August 13, 2019 at the Italian Club in historic Ybor City.
Over the coming weeks, the Chamber will be providing updates and information about sponsorships for this

Additionally, the Tampa Bay Diversity Chamber of Commerce will be moving its annual awards gala, “Diamonds in
Diversity,” originally scheduled for March 1 rd to October 18, 2019 to focus its resources, planning and full
commitment to the Opening Night Reception for the NGLCC Conference, and its regularly scheduled Breakfast ‘n

Founded in 2002, the NGLCC was created as a resource to support the LGBT business community and showcase the
diversity of talent, skills, and expertise that the LGBT community has to offer. The 2019 International Business &
Leadership Conference is expected to convene more than 1,300 LGBT and allied entrepreneurs, business owners,
government & corporate representatives, and LGBT chamber leaders from across the country and around the
globe. Attendees will take part in three days of symposia, panel discussions, development seminars, and special
events designed to generate business opportunities and build strong relationships.

The 2018 NGLCC International Business & Leadership Conference brought together over 1,200 business leaders to
the city of Philadelphia, PA. Attendees heard from media icon, entrepreneur, and LGBT ally Martha Stewart,
Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf and Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney, who delivered special remarks on the
importance of including of LGBT Business Enterprises (LGBTBEs) in public and private sector contracting.
Throughout the week, attendees attended discussions with many of the world’s top corporate and government
leaders committed to LGBT business development and opportunity. With the help of the International Business
Alliance (IBA), the economic impact of NGLCC’s 2018 International Business & Leadership Conference was
estimated at roughly $3.6 million dollars and made a lasting impact on the region’s hospitality and tourism
industry.
