Completed home renovation expands campus care program serving single mom families
(LAKELAND, Fla.) – Florida Baptist Children’s Homes and One More Child invites the community to an event celebrating the completed renovation and unveiling of its newest home for single mothers. The event will take place Tuesday, February 5 at 10 a.m. on the FBCH Lakeland campus located at 1015 Sikes Blvd. Guests arriving for the event should enter the campus via the entrance on Central Avenue and park on the grass lot near the chapel. The home is situated on the far-right corner of the campus.
Hulbert Homes CEO Mark Hulbert and staff will be recognized for their work on the renovation, which included donating all of the materials and labor for the project. In early 2018, FBCH and One More Child commissioned the Lakeland-area builder to repurpose one of its vacant campus homes into comfortable housing for women participating in the One More Child Single Moms program.
Since 2016, FBCH and One More Child has been helping single mothers discover the path to self-sufficiency through a comprehensive program that teaches necessary life skills, introduces mothers to an encouraging network of support, provides access to resources, and supplies safe, secure housing for participants and their children. The newly-renovated home in Lakeland expands the program’s ability to serve more children and families in need.
In 2018, FBCH and One More Child impacted more than 249,000 children and families in more than 50 locations locally and globally, including 118 mothers and their children through its Single Moms program at campuses in Lakeland, Jacksonville and Miami.
