Fourth Friday Invites Community to Explore and Celebrate Tampa’s Arts & Culture Scene

TAMPA – On the Fourth Friday of each month, Tampa’s arts and culture scene is celebrated with participating venues offering free or reduced admissions, special programming, and local restaurants offering specials to patrons with the iconic Fourth Friday wristband. Now in its third year, Fourth Friday, presented by TECO Energy, and brought to you by the Tampa Downtown Partnership, announces its lineup for this month’s event on Friday, January 25:
This month’s Featured Offers are:
AIA Tampa Bay: Located at 1315 East 7th Avenue in the heart of Ybor City, AIA Tampa Bay celebrates Fourth Friday from 5:30-7:30pm with two events. Attend the opening reception featuring the 2018 Design Award Entries and join the discussion on Biophilic design and how it seeks to connect our inherent human need to affiliate with nature into the built environment. Create your own terrarium while enjoying some wine and cheese!
Florida Museum of Photographic Arts: Located at 400 N. Ashley Dr. in Downtown Tampa, Florida Museum of Photographic Arts celebrates Fourth Friday from 5-7pm with the opening of two new exhibits; Modus Operandi: Contemporary Photography from the Collection of BNY Mellon, and Lost and Found in America. A lecture by Liz Dimmit on Lost and Found in America begins at 6pm. Admission is pay-as-you-will and light refreshments will be available.
Glazer Children’s Museum: Located at 110 W Gasparilla Plaza on the edge of Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, GCM celebrates Fourth Friday from 5:30 to 7:30pm with Fourth Friday Drop-Off Camp. Drop your kids off at GCM then enjoy your evening downtown with all that Fourth Fridays have to offer! Your little learners will imagine, discover, and connect to the world around them at Camp Imagination. Pick up a wristband and let the kids play! $25 for the first child, $20 for each additional child in a household. Jobsite Theater: Located inside the Straz Center, Jobsite Theater celebrates Fourth Friday with $10 off tickets to that night’s performance of Othello (limit 2 per person.)
Le Méridien Tampa Hotel: Located at 601 N. Florida Ave. in Downtown Tampa, Le Méridien celebrates Fourth Friday with a Tour of the Century starting at 5:30pm. Guests should meet their tour guide in the lobby on the first floor. All guests who attend the tour will receive 20% off their dinner (food only) in Bizou. Enjoy 2-for-1 Bacardi cocktails for $8 until 8 p.m., with LIVE Music from 6-9pm for Fourth Friday at Bizou. 
Rialto Theatre: Located at 1617 N Franklin Street in Tampa Heights, the Rialto celebrates Fourth Friday from 6-9pm with an opening reception for LINE | FOCUS | BALANCE, a solo show by Jessica McCormick.
Scarfone/Hartley Gallery: Located on the University of Tampa’s campus, Scarfone/Hartley Gallery celebrates Fourth Friday from 7-9pm with an opening reception of exhibit Modernism Reimagined: Joe Testa-Secca in Full Color, highlighting the art of renowned local artist Joe Testa-Secca.
Stageworks Theatre: Located at 1120 E Kennedy Blvd. in the heart of the Channel District, Stageworks Theatre celebrates Fourth Friday by offering $5 off tickets for opening night of ThinkTank Theatre’s Production of The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. Show time is 7:30pm. ThinkTank Theatre is a professional theatre company for young audiences whose vision is to produce evocative, intelligent, entertaining family theatre.  Straz Center: Located at 1010 N Macinnes Place in Downtown Tampa, the Straz Center celebrates Fourth Friday from 4pm-8pm with reduced prices to upcoming shows. Get $30 tickets to Hundred Days (limit of 2 per person) and take $10 off tickets for the February 13th performance of Farruquito.
TECO Public Art Gallery: Located at 702 North Franklin St in the heart of Tampa’s Downtown, the TECO Public Art Gallery celebrates Fourth Friday from 5:30pm to 7:30pm with a Talk & Tour led by artist Kerry Didday in “Neutral Impressions”, a solo exhibition of new paintings. This new series was greatly influenced by the shapes, textures and colors of New Mexico and the high desert country.

Henry B. Plant Museum: Located at 401 W. Kennedy Blvd. on the University of Tampa campus, the Museum celebrates Fourth Friday from 4:00-5:00 p.m. with free admission and audio tours. Italian Club: Located at 1731 E. 7th Avenue in Ybor’s Historic District, as the oldest historical leader and the voice of the Italian community in Tampa. The Italian Club celebrates Fourth Friday from 5:00 –9:00pm with Happy Hour in their Cantina, featuring LIVE Music. These specials include: $3 Well Liquor, $3 Domestic Beer, $4 Sangria, $5 Call Brands, and $6 Two for One MASI Wine until 7pm. $13 Homemade Italian Dinner Buffet also available! The Italian Club enhances value to the membership, as well as the greater Tampa community through social activities, fellowship, Italian arts, and culture. John F. Germany Library: Located at 900 N. Ashley Dr. in Downtown Tampa, John F. Germany Library celebrates Fourth Friday from 4 – 6pm. Going to the library is an awesome way to celebrate Fourth Friday in Downtown Tampa. Get ready for Gasparilla with pirate themed activities. Make an eye patch, create a hook for your hand or test your treasure finding with a scavenger hunt. Drop in anytime during the event to try your hand at any of the fun activities.
The Portico: Located at 1001 N. Florida Avenue, The Portico celebrates Fourth Friday with Open Mic Night from 6-9pm. This month a trio of hosts, Endre Blaq, Jasey Soulz and K Delore, welcome local artists to share their talents with Downtown Tampa.
Tampa Theatre: Located at 711 N. Franklin St. in Downtown Tampa, the Theatre’s lobby will be open for guests from 4:30pm-6:30pm for their Pause Happy Hour featuring drink specials. Free 10-minute mini-tours will also run during the Happy Hour. Tickets to stay for the 7:30pm screening of the award-winning film Roma are $11.00.
 Tampa Museum of Art: Located at 120 W Gasparilla Plaza in Downtown Tampa, the Tampa Museum of Art celebrates Fourth Friday from 4 – 8pm with pay-as-you-will admission*. From 5-8p, Happy Hour on the River…Enjoy the Riverwalk Café at TMA by SaltBlock Hospitality featuring Boat Run Oyster bar and specialty Riverwalk Café cocktails to “stroll and go” along the Riverwalk. Special 10% discount at the Museum Store too! *Yayoi Kusama: LOVE IS CALLING installation is not included in pay as you will admission. Admission to Yayoi Kusama: LOVE IS CALLING is $15.00 and includes access to all TMA exhibitions. Timed tickets are recommended and available at TampaMuseum.org. Access to other galleries except Kusama are pay as you will.
Unlock Tampa Bay Visitors Center: Located at 201 N Franklin St., Suite 102 in Tampa City Center, the visitors center celebrates Fourth Friday from 4-5:30pm. Visit Tampa Bay’s stylish Unlock Tampa Bay Visitors Center showcases a trove of great products built, crafted or written by Tampa Bay’s talented krewe of artists and artisans. This month come by for a 15% discount.
Ybor City Visitor Center: Located at 1600 E. 8th Ave. in Ybor City, Ybor City Visitor Center celebrates Fourth Friday from 4 – 5pm with a free entry, 10% off in their gift shop, and viewing of the Ybor City National Historic Landmark District Video.

Coast Bike Share: Located throughout Tampa, Coast Bike Share is offering a free hour to all new users. Claim your hour of Coast using code FOURTHFRIDAY12019. 
TECO Line Streetcar System: Enjoy extended hours of service, 15-minute frequencies and free fares!
Fourth Friday participants can pick up a wristband at any of the participating cultural venues during event hours. Then, just park once and let Downtown’s many alternative transportation options do the rest. Take a complimentary ride on the TECO Line Streetcar, stroll along The Tampa Riverwalk, cruise the Hillsborough on the Pirate Water Taxi, hail the FREE Downtowner ride service with an app on your smartphone, or saunter along 7th Avenue in Ybor, Tampa’s only Historic District. Participants also get a FREE hour of Coast Bike rental with promo code FOURTHFRIDAY12019 (visit the Facebook page or FourthFridayTPA.com for details).
