SARASOTA, Fla. (Jan. 10, 2019) — William Blumenstein, an 86-year-old artist and resident of The Fountains at Lake Pointe Woods in Sarasota, has been featured nationally in the Expressions 2019 Calendar, an award-winning calendar that celebrates active aging and the arts. His watercolor painting titled “Quiet Waters,” was selected from entries nationwide to be included in the full-color wall calendar and will be featured during the month of July.
“We’re so proud to say that we are home to one of the 2019 Expressions calendar artists,” said Peggy Beasley, executive director of The Fountains at Lake Pointe Woods. “Mr. Blumenstein loves spending his time outdoors, and his passion for nature is reflected in his artwork. We’re so happy to see this passion honored at a national level.”
When Blumenstein isn’t paining, he also enjoys playing golf and racing his remote-control sailboat on the lake on The Fountains at Lake Pointe Woods idyllic 53-acre property.
The Expressions Calendar is published by Watermark Retirement Communities, a national senior housing operator that manages 51 communities nationwide, including The Fountains at Lake Pointe Woods. This is the 18th year that Watermark has published the calendar nationwide. The calendar has been awarded a Mature Media Award from the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) and an ADDY Award® from the Tucson Advertising Federation.
