
Tampa-based Pain Relief Centers brings state-of-the-art interventional pain management to Manatee and Sarasota counties as it opens its fourth location on Tuesday, Jan. 8 in Lakewood Ranch.
The clinic is located at 6310 Health Park Way, Suite 320, Lakewood Ranch, Fla. 34202. Its primary physician is Dr. John Scott Adams, an interventional pain management specialist with a background in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Adams specializes in treating all pain conditions with an emphasis on comprehensive, non-opioid modalities. These include peripheral nerve blocks, neuromodulation including spinal cord stimulators and spinal injections, among others.
Dr. Adams earned his undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from the University of California Los Angeles and his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in St. George, Grenada. He completed an internship in General Surgery at Louisiana State University.
Dr. Adams went on to complete a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a Pain Medicine fellowship at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. He served as a senior academic resident, supervising junior residents, scheduling speakers for the Frazier rehab Institute and giving Grand Rounds lectures.
He has been widely published in scientific journals related to treatment of such conditions as neuralgia, complex regional pain syndrome and post-trauma headache.
Dr. Adams is joined by nurse practitioner Agnes Lynch, MSN, FNP-C.
Lynch earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Remedios Trinidad Romualdez Medical Foundation in Tacloban City, Philippines and her Masters of Science in Nursing from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn.
Before relocating to Florida in 2016, she spent 15 years as a nurse at Connecticut Children’s Center in Hartford, and later, in various units at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center, also in Hartford.
She is a licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She is a member of the Sarasota Nurse Practitioner Association and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Pain Relief Centers acquired the location from Sarasota Pain Associates in 2018. The company owns others in St. Petersburg, Sun City Center and Orlando.
