GULFPORT, FLORIDA: Nationally-celebrated comic Poppy Champlin returns to Gulfport on Saturday, February 16 at 8 p.m. at Catherine Hickman Theater (5501 27th Ave. South). This engagement follows her hilarious sold-out 2018 show. Her appearance will once again be a fundraiser for the LGBTQ Resource Center at Gulfport Public Library. Pop a happy pill with Poppy Champlin’s Funny Medicine Show as she injects humor into everything from yoga for oldsters to red, blue and purple politics from a lesbian feminist perspective. Adults only suggested.
She is one of the quickest-witted comedians working either coast today. “She erupts onto the stage, fearless, upbeat and energetic – spitting out jokes, quips, songs, impressions and even birdcalls. Poppy’s shows can be described as spin art – No two alike.” (Laugh Factory) Poppy has appeared extensively on TV, including The Joan Rivers Show, Entertainment Tonight, Showtime, LOGO, Comics Unleashed, Comedy Central, VH-1, HBO and Oprah.
Tickets are available at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3900986 or simply go to BrownPaperTickets.com and search Poppy Champlin. Tickets are also available at the Gulfport Beach Bazaar (3115 Beach Blvd. S.). A limited number of early admission tickets are $30/ea. The show is presented by and benefits the Gulfport Public Library’s LGBTQ Resource Center.
