This annual event invites members of The Dalí Museum to meet with and view work by local artists and artisans. Each of the 12 Zodiac Committee members has selected an artist to showcase. The Museum Store will also be open and offering members a special 25% discount on Store merchandise. Tickets for the event are $18 and available to Dalí Museum members & their guests on TheDali.org.
The Zodiac Membership Committee is an all-volunteer group that
supports the mission of The Dalí Museum by building meaningful relationships with members, fostering new interest in the membership program, and helping to strengthen ties between the Museum, its members and the arts community. The original Zodiac Group was created in France in 1932 and consisted of 12 patrons who each sponsored Salvador Dalí for one month of the year. In exchange, patrons received a work of Dalí’s produced during that same month. In the
spirit of these forward-thinking patrons, The Dalí’s Zodiac Membership Committee was formed in 1996.
BJ Andryusky of Dragonfly Antics is honored to have been selected as one of twelve artists in this prestigious event held at the Dali Museum. All of her art has been upcycled from their original form with the use of
polymer clay and metallic acrylic paints. It is BJ’s hope that her collection, which ranges from individual pendants to the Grand Castle, impel the observer into closer scrutiny. She appreciates the examination
process by those investigating the patterns, colors and fine detail found in each piece.
About BJ Andryusky of Dragonfly Antics
BJ has an exceptional skill for turning domestic items like vases, boxes, and jars into affordable metallic-looking art. She does this by working her magic with polymer clay; often in a steampunk or industrial
style.
Working from her home studio in Historic Kenwood, BJ emerged into the rapidly growing art scene of St. Petersburg, Florida, late in 2017 with the opening of her new business which can be found online at
http://www.dragonflyantics.com. In January of 2018, she was selected and is presently serving as Resident Artist for LocalShops1 in Gulfport, Florida. BJ’s early retirement from corporate management & training has allowed her the freedom to pursue her dreams.
Her love of all things mystical and spiritual supports the imaginative style found in her home décor and collectible designs.
