BRADENTON, Fla. — In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October, the employees of the Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller held a drive and collected over 3,000 items for HOPE Family Services, a nonprofit that offers life-saving services for victims and survivors of domestic violence.
Throughout the month, staff members compiled items, such as children’s pajamas, diapers, toiletry items, wipes and more. These contributions will assist victims of domestic violence in need.
“Every day, the Manatee County Clerk’s Office works with local law enforcement agencies and the victim advocates at HOPE Family Services to help victims seeking assistance and protection from domestic abuse,” said Angel Colonneso, Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit Court. “I cannot thank my team enough for their willingness to contribute so many much-need items to this very worthy organization.”
The Manatee County Clerk’s Office provides information regarding domestic violence, including violence protection packets and instructions for completion. Throughout the entire process – from filing reports to ensuring victims are connected with advocate programs – the Manatee County Clerk’s Office maintains confidentiality and discretion.
