Saint Petersburg and Wesley Chapel combined their top talent to form a regional competitive lacrosse team, the Dragon Tribe, which incorporates the names for both clubs. The team traveled to Flagler this Veteran’s day weekend to compete in one of the most competitive tournaments of the state’s fall season.
Jackson Schwartz showed why he is heavily recruited to play with multiple teams. The player used a combination of passing, footwork, a wicked shot and speed to help put his team into winning position on multiple occasions. Their close defense anchored by Noah Day and Aaron Mathews demonstrated that it can ward off even the best offenses. Logan Hardin showed off his speed, power and competitive spirit at the midfield position.
Dragon Tribe goalie, Cole Narkiewicz, had a fantastic tournament. Narkiewicz stopped over 65% of shots on goal. He was recognized as the division’s best goalie.
The team will be competing again this weekend, this time at their home field in Wesley Chapel. They are scheduled to play at the Wesley Chapel District Park on Saturday at 8:30, 11:00 and 1:30. Come on out and watch some great lacrosse teams play! And in between games, maybe even try to score on their goalie. My bet is that you can’t.
