Opening night celebrates authentic holiday experiences under palm trees on a pleasant Florida evening

Opening Night of Winter Village at Curtis Hixon Park Presented by Tampa Bay Lightning and brought to you by Tampa Downtown Partnership.

Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park (near Riverwalk)

Parking is available at Poe Garage. Media trucks are advised to park off West Twiggs Street at the South entrance to the park. See the red X for the location of the presser in the map below.

Friday, November 16
Opening Reception: 5:00pm
Ribbon Cutting: 5:30pm
Open Skate: 5:30pm – 7:30pm
Movie in the Park: 7:30pm
DETAILS
Presenting sponsor Tampa Bay Lightning will be joined by Lynda Remund and Mickey Jacob of the Tampa Downtown Partnership, a representative of the Tampa Bay Lightning, and Mayor Bob Buckhorn in the Opening Ceremony of Winter Village at Curtis Hixon Park, presented by Tampa Bay Lightning. Following the ceremony, the public is invited to enjoy free skating from 5:30pm to 7:30pm followed by a free screening of “Home Alone” by Tampa Theatre and made possible by the F.E. Lykes Foundation. The Shops of Winter Village and the waterfront café will be open for patrons looking to shop and enjoy holiday treats.
Joining in the celebration are the mascots of Tampa Bay’s sports teams including the Tampa Bay Lightning Bug and Raymond from the Tampa Bay Rays. Cheerleaders from the Tampa Bay Lightning will also be present and skating with the public.
