Tampa Bay Innovation Center Celebrates Expansion With A Community Open House

November 8, 2018 by Post

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla – November 8, 2018 – Tampa Bay Innovation Center (TBIC) is celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week by inviting the community to a free open house on November 13, 2018 to unveil its new 20,000 square foot center. TBIC, an innovation and entrepreneurship center for technology businesses, has been experiencing growth and has recently moved from its 6,000 square foot center at St. Petersburg College’s downtown St. Petersburg campus, to the 501 Building.

“November’s scheduled TECH Talk will be taking place during this open house. It was the perfect fit to not only celebrate our new digs, but to  introduce the community to our Center, local tech innovators and to some of our talented entrepreneur clients. U.S. Commercial Robots Corp., Pad Go Round, HealthDatix and Malware Patrol are among some of the clients who will be in attendance. We also want to thank our partners, Pinellas County Economic Development, the City of St. Petersburg and The Greenhouse for their support,” stated Tonya Elmore, TBIC’s President and CEO. TECH Talk is a networking and educational event where local tech leaders, innovators, investors and start-ups can meet and learn important information about growth and success from each other.

“We want to invite the neighbors, local entrepreneurs and partners to explore the new offices of the Tampa Bay Innovation Center,” shared Mike Meidel, Director of Pinellas County Economic Development. “The Open House on Tuesday will be an opportunity for the community to meet the TBIC team and the growing cadre of entrepreneurs that are part of this business accelerator.” Meidel will give an official welcome to attendees at 8:30 am.

“Tampa Bay Innovation Center plays an important role in the community’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. We are pleased to work with them this year as they develop and launch a new Grow Smarter industry focused acceleration program and look forward to seeing meaningful impact in the growth and development of St. Pete companies,” said Jessica Eilerman, Small Business Liaison & Greenhouse Manager, City of St Petersburg. “The Tampa Bay Innovation Center has partnered with The Greenhouse since The Greenhouse’s inception five years ago and has proved to be a great resource to tech-based entrepreneurs,  we look forward to that partnership continuing.”
