This year PAVA is holding its Annual Art Exhibit from November 28th through December 23rd at the Creative Pinellas Pinewood Gallery in conjunction with the Florida Botanical Gardens holiday light display. It will showcase artwork in various mediums from PAVA artists, along with a Plein Aire art exhibit and an artisan gift shoppe. Demonstrating artists and Kids Creative Art Activities will take place on the weekends.
The PAVA Annual Art Exhibit will feature the artwork of the organization’s members in a curated collection of visual and functional creations in paint, pastel, wood, ceramics, photography, metal, glass, fiber, mixed media and jewelry. In addition, there will also be a Plein Aire exhbit that will feature drawing, painting, and photography of the surrounding gardens, Heritage Village and Walsingham Park. All artwork is for sale, and more will be available in the adjacent artisan gift shoppe, which opens Saturday, December 8th. Exhibit and gift shoppe hours are Wednesday-Friday, 3pm – 8pm and Saturday and Sunday, 1pm – 8pm.
The Kids Creative Art Activities will take place on Saturday December 8th, 15th and 22nd from 1pm-4pm. Children ages 6-14 will have the opportunity to paint on canvas using tabletop easels, butterfly blot painting, and rock painting. All children’s painting activities are free.
Various artists will also be demonstrating their techniques on Sunday December 2nd, 9th and 16th. (See the PAVA website https://pava-artists.org/2018-members/ for more details.) This would be a great opportunity to see the artists in action and discover how their artwork is created. And as a special treat, you can listen to holiday classics and folk songs performed by the ukulele band, The Three Ukers, from 4-5pm on Saturday, December 15th, right outside the exhibit.
PAVA’s Annual Art Exhibit will be located in the Creative Pinellas Pinewood Gallery located at the entrance to the Florida Botanical Gardens at 12211 Walsingham Road, Largo. Exhibit admission, children’s activities, and parking are free.
