ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Creative Clay Fest, Creative Clay’s largest fundraiser, returns to 3 Daughters Brewing Sunday, Nov. 11, 11a.m. to 8 p.m.
Creative Clay Fest (formerly Folkfest St. Pete) is a celebration of original art and live music. Now in its 12th year, the festival was created to draw good folks to the mission of Creative Clay and to raise funds to support this community-minded arts center for people with disabilities.
Attendees will be able to purchase art from folk artists from around the Southeast and locally, such as Missionary Mary Proctor, Bean Spence, Jennifer Kosharek, Zulu Painter, Rasta Geary Taylor, Tom Luger and Don Stone. Creative Clay artists also will be selling their original folk art.
Emily Turnage, Creative Clay’s Community Arts Director and Creative Clay Fest Director cites a unique feature of Creative Clay Fest, which features not only local and regional artists, but Creative Clay’s own member artists.
“We’re thrilled to welcome renowned artists, but also celebrate the talent of our own member artists, as they exhibit alongside other working artists,” said Turnage. “This aspect of Creative Clay Fest honors our vision of arts accessibility for all, and educates the community about the importance of social equity.”
Keep St. Pete Lit, Nomad Art Bus, DMG School Project, Boyd Hill and Bluebird Books will comprise a free family area for the youngest attendees. The Veteran Center of Tampa Bay and the National Art Honor Society at Gibbs High School will also be on hand with original art for sale and representatives available to discuss programming and advocacy of their projects.
Throughout the day, local and national musical acts will perform, as Creative Clay welcomes back popular acts and invites new ones to share the stage. The schedule is;
- 11 a.m. Acho Brother
- 12:15 p.m. Danielle Mohr
- 1:30 p.m. Ella Jet and Future Soul
- 2:45 p.m. FayRoy

Creative Clay’s vision is to make the arts accessible to all. Our mission is to help people with disabilities achieve full and inclusive lives through access to the arts by providing expressive, educational and vocational experiences.
Creative Clay’s core program is its Community Arts Program, which serves 50-60 adult artists with neuro-differences each week. Through the implementation of additional offerings, such as the inclusive Art Around the World Summer Camp and Summer Studio for older teens and young adults, Artlink employment program, Creative Care Arts in Wellness outreach program, and its Pinellas County Schools’ partnership Transition program, individuals of all ages and abilities are mentored, taught and empowered to become working artists who actively create, market and sell their work. The end result is that a formerly stigmatized population, through the art it creates and sells, demystifies stereotypes surrounding those with disabilities and creates a culture of acceptance throughout the community.
