VENICE, Fla. — J.E. Charlotte Construction Corp., a Venice-based commercial construction company, recently finalized the remodel for the Perkins Restaurant & Bakery in Venice.
Last week, the restaurant opened its doors since closing for the enhancements and updates in April 2018. The design and construction improvement for Perkins Restaurant & Bakery was done in conjunction with the reconfiguration and widening of U.S. 41 Bypass.
Designed by Beebe Design Studio Architects, Inc., the team demolished the west wing and added a 1,154-square-foot addition to the southern side and renovated 2,163 square feet of the existing 6,370-square-foot space. The new building entrance was slightly shifted to the west to accommodate two automatic sliding doors.
“This new remodel is a much brighter, more contemporary design with plenty of seating for large parties,” said Julie Roettger, vice president of operations for Northcott Hospitality and a longtime Perkins franchisee who owns and operates the Venice location. “We are genuinely excited to show our loyal guests in the Venice community what we’ve done.”
Located at 1331 S. 41 Bypass in Venice, visitors will find an updated and more contemporary-feeling restaurant with its signature bakery. The building’s exterior features Perkins signature logo and a contemporary take on the trademark green stripe awnings, as well as new lighting, stucco and stone finishes.
Along with new metal framing and drywall, roofing materials, insulation, flooring, ceiling tiles, architectural trim, display equipment and booths, the restaurant showcases a fresh, warm and comfortable environment with new paint, chairs, tables and artwork throughout. The restaurant’s kitchen received minor modifications with upgraded equipment, plumbing, electrical, a fire protection system and heating, ventilation and air conditioning units.
The Venice Perkins Restaurant & Bakery is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and staffed by 80 full-time and part-time employees.
