3,000 donated books going to local school children

October 19, 2018 by Post

The donations will take place at noon 10/22 at Fuguitt Elementary in Largo and then 10/23 at Shaw Elementary in Tampa.

October 19, 2018  Some lucky elementary school students across the bay from each other will receive the gift of books next week after a local business networking organization collected 3,000 usable books donated from their friends and colleagues all over Tampa Bay.

“We are so ecstatic about the overwhelming support from individual chapter members to donate to our local schools that really need help,” said Andrew Gordon, a BNI member from St. Petersburg. “This is just the first of many more drives to support our Tampa Bay Community.”

The six-week book drive conducted by the 36 chapters and 1,400 members of Hillsborough and Pinellas BNI chapters collected books appropriate for kindergarten through 5th grade students. Each school will get 1,500 books. The books will be dropped off at noon Monday at Fugitt Elementary, 13010 101st St SE, Largo, FL 33773.

On Tuesday at noon, BNI members will drop the other 1,500 books off at Shaw Elementary, 11311 N 15th St, Tampa, FL 33612.
