“Most people use yoga for exercise, but we’re now reaching out to other parts of our population that can benefit from yoga as a vehicle for personal development and self-improvement,” said Claudia Baeza, Owner of Pineapple Yoga.
“Yoga has been proven to be a healing modality for those suffering from trauma, PTSD, addictions, and more. By making this practice available, free of charge, to people with a wide-range of challenges, we’re giving them the tools to help them get back on track in their lives,” Baeza said.
Pineapple Yoga Studio and The Dharma Footprint Project Inc., a Florida non-profit created by Claudia Baeza for the purpose of helping underserved and at-risk communities, use yoga to help recovering alcoholics, Parkinson’s patients, pregnant mothers recovering from opioid addiction, adults and children served by the Sarasota Housing Authority, juveniles in area detention facilities and those suffering with anxiety and depression. These are just a few of the participants who benefit from increased self-awareness and stability enhancing their sense of well-being and wellness. This translates into real life change that affects the entire community.
“I find my non-profit work as important as my for-profit business. It’s important for a studio in our location to do the right thing,” Baeza said.
Owner Claudia Baeza is available for interviews and would be willing to allow a reporter and/or photographer the opportunity to experience one of the community yoga classes first-hand. Please call for scheduling.
Pineapple Yoga is also proud to announce the arrival of indoor cycling–or “spin classes”– as well as a wide variety of other fitness classes including Barre, Functional Fitness Flow and Power Sculpt Yoga, and Cycling for Parkinson’s Disease.
