Central West Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association event features roundtable sessions with representatives from regional media outlets
The Central West Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (CWC-FPRA) is hosting its annual Media Breakfast, which offers guests an opportunity to network with local and state media representatives and get an insider’s look at today’s newsroom. PR and communications professionals, nonprofit groups, and other interested individuals will benefit from the opportunity to meet news representatives face-to-face and learn how to effectively communicate with the media.
The event will be held on Wednesday, October 17, from 7:30-11 a.m. at the Community Foundation of Sarasota County (2635 Fruitville Road, Sarasota). Tickets for the program are $45/FPRA members, $55/guests; cost includes breakfast and a 2018-2019 media directory, which includes contact information and preferences of area assignment editors, reporters, freelance writers and other members of the media. To register, visit cwcfpra.com/events.
This year’s participating media representatives, who will offer their expertise and advice for story pitching and developing authentic relationships with the media, include Craig Burdick, SNN; Chloe Conboy, WWSB ABC 7; Laura Finaldi, Herald-Tribune Media Group; Mark Gordon, Business Observer; Patricia Horwell, Venice Florida Weekly; Meagan McDonald, Sarasota Magazine; Kathryn Parks, Arts & Cultural Alliance’s “Culture Coast”; and Kelly Stilwell, Food, Fun & Faraway Places.
“Our Media Breakfast offers attendees crucial networking opportunities with regional media representatives,” says Rhonda Leiberick, APR, president of CWC-FPRA. “There is a reason this event sells out every year – we are thrilled that local PR and communications professionals continue to find the program beneficial!”
Event sponsors are Wordslinger Marketing & PR and the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce.
