This year, Art Lofts is the designated site for the SPIRITS of St. Petersburg. We hosted the local chapter of the World’s Largest Ghost Hunt on September 29th as part of an international effort between 200 teams in 12 countries. The event was to raise awareness of our local historic sites and to teach about paranormal investigation. Participation was limited to 15 people.
Now it’s your turn to learn. Art Lofts is housed in a structure built in 1916. It spent over 7 decades as the flagship for the Rutland Department Store before its conversion into Art Space in 1996, and Art Lofts in 2002. The building has encountered many people over its long life….the question is who remains within the building in the afterlife?
Come and learn about the marvelous wonders of the building and its haunted history. Brandy Stark, PhD, is the local paranormal professor. She hosts this free talk at 7 PM on October 13, in conjunction with the Second Saturday Art Walk, in the Art Lofts conference room. Talk is free and open to the public. Come and get into the spirit of Halloween while learning more about the phantasmic history of our great city!
