St. Pete Health Fest

October 3, 2018 by Post

A Free Plant-Based Festival to Celebrate Health and Sustainability

St. Petersburg, FL, October 3, 2018–On October 6th, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Solutionary Events, PlantPure Health & Weight Loss, and EcoJoia will come together to present the first St. Pete Health Fest, co-sponsored by the City of St. Petersburg! Guests will have the opportunity to learn about creating healthy, compassionate, and environmentally sustainable communities through a fun-filled festival at Williams Park.

The event features renowned speakers and health professionals, yoga and fitness classes, plant-based food demonstrations, live music from a variety of talented musicians, fitness contests, 75+ health and wellness vendors, a wide selection of plant-based foods, workshops, rock climbing, artists, and activities for children and families–the event is fun for all! The festival is free to attend and there are plenty of parking options in downtown St. Petersburg, including at the South Core Garage and Sundial Garage.

PlantPure Health and Weight Loss empowers people everywhere through nutrition education and the delivery of affordable, healthy plant-based food. Solutionary Events is a 501c3 non-profit educational outreach organization with a mission to create a more peaceful world through organizing socially responsible vegan events. Solutionary Events works with EcoJoia at every event to produce organic, sustainably sourced t-shirts with plant-based inks. EcoJoia supports the merchandise needs of environmental and humanitarian non-profit organizations, with the goal of increasing their fundraising capabilities and simultaneously spreading cause awareness. These three organizations share the mission of creating a healthier world through humane education.

“This planet is shared by all living beings, and we have just one Earth—we are all connected. St. Pete Health Fest will raise awareness for many solutions to problems resulting in an unhealthy world, such as deforestation, water depletion, climate change, pollution, animal cruelty, preventable illnesses and social injustices. Education and advocacy are the most powerful tools to enact positive, long-term and meaningful change. Instead of considering what might happen if we don’t grasp the magnitude of protecting our planet now, we believe in considering what might happen if we create a regenerative world by making healthy lifestyle choices (today).” ~Kevin L., Event Coordinator

The team is thrilled to be welcoming speakers Margarita Restrepo, Editor of Naked Food Magazine; John Corry, Producer of Forks Over Knives and PlantPure Nation; Ellen Jaffe Jones, Author of Eat Vegan on $4 a Day, Koushik Reddy, MD, Cardiologist at Tampa VA Hospital; Evelisse Capo, PharmD of The Food Pharmacist;  Deepa Verma, MD, Integrative Medicine. We are also proud to welcome skilled plant-based chefs, including Chef Evelisse Capo, Deana, Chef Miniawi-Pulis, and  Chef Mike Donnerstag for a variety of food demonstrations.
