Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) honored District Board of Trustees member Rao Musunuru, M.D., with the naming of the Rao Musunuru, M.D. Conference Center at an open house and dedication ceremony held Tuesday, September 25 at its Spring Hill Campus, in Spring Hill.
Community members, faculty, staff and students attended the special event recognizing Dr. Musunuru’s service as a dedicated PHSC trustee since 1999, including four terms of service as board chair, as well as his significant contributions to the PHSC Foundation.
“This tribute recognizes the renowned cardiologist’s commitment to the college and support of the PHSC Foundation, including the establishment of numerous student scholarships and the purchase of state-of-the-art instructional medical equipment for the college’s health care programs,” said PHSC President Timothy L. Beard, Ph.D.
Dignitaries who spoke at the event included Marilyn Pearson-Adams, member, PHSC District Board of Trustees, Greg Lenners, chair, PHSC Foundation Board of Directors, and Florida Senator Wilton Simpson, a former trustee and PHSC alumnus. A ribbon cutting, led by Patricia Crowley, president/CEO of the Greater Hernando Chamber of Commerce, concluded the ceremony.
Tours of the Spring Hill Campus were available after the dedication ceremony. Approximately 250 guests were in attendance.
