
St. Petersburg, FL (September 17, 2018) – The Sunshine Senior Center hosts the 2nd Annual Come Out – Stay Out, an LGBTQ senior resource fair, on Friday, Oct. 5, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Sunshine Senior Center, 330 Fifth St. N. The free event provides an opportunity for seniors to explore LGBTQ friendly vendors.
The fair offers community resources, free advance directives that will be administered by Frank “Skip” Tylman, the Baby Boomers’ Barrister, door prizes that will be given throughout the morning and more. At 10:30 a.m., keynote speaker, Catherine Blackburn, an attorney with LifePlanLaw.com, will speak on the need for advocacy for the LGBTQ senior community.
There will also be free continental breakfast for the first 100 attendees, and lunch options will be available.
Admission is free and open to the public. The event is coordinated by the Better Living for Seniors LGBT subcommittee, Area Agency on Aging of Pasco/Pinellas, the St. Petersburg Parks and Recreation Department’s Sunshine Senior Center, and the event is sponsored by the law office of Ferrari, Butler & Moneymaker, PLLC.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Sunshine Senior Center’s Fee Waiver Program that allows low income seniors access to programs and activities, Better Living for Seniors LGBT subcommittee and Area Agency on Aging of Pasco/Pinellas.
