St. Petersburg, FL (September 12, 2018) – Enjoy an afternoon of theater and laughs on September 22, at the Coliseum, 535 Fourth Ave. N., as “Denying Gravity” leaves you inspired and aware. The free performance tells a story of an independent woman, Claire, determined to live life her way and “let the chips – and hips – fall where they may.” Play begins at 2 p.m.; doors open at 1 p.m. Admission is free, and all ages are welcome.
“Denying Gravity” is a fall prevention play bringing awareness to the dangers of falls among seniors and inspiring positive action to prevent falls. Did you know that falls are the leading cause of injury and death among seniors? Last year, Pinellas County received over 25,000 calls requesting help for a senior who had fallen. The play hopes to bring awareness to the dangers and discuss how falls can be prevented.
The event is sponsored by the Senior Actors Guild & Education Services (SAGES) Theater Company, St. Petersburg Fire Rescue, the Fall Prevention Coalition of Better Living for Seniors and St. Petersburg Parks and Recreation Department.
