SEPT. 8, 2018, PLANT CITY, FL – Forget Christmas. The real countdown is to St. Patrick’s Day, according to O’Brien’s Irish Pub in Plant City. On Saturday, September 15, the restaurant and bar will celebrate their annual “Halfway to St. Paddy’s Day” party.
“Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day has become a huge event celebrated all over the world,” says Skyler Clark, a featured live performer that night. “And why not? St. Patrick’s Day is a fun holiday so let’s celebrate it twice a year.”
O’Brien’s in Plant City is celebrating with a Bar-B-Q cook-off and scheduling several popular local bands that got their start at the restaurant. Skyler Clark, a country artist who most recently headlined the Lombardo Country Bash in downtown Tampa last month and recently opened for Joe Nichols in May, is scheduled to perform. He started with his first gig at O’Brien’s in Plant City in 2014.
Also scheduled to perform are Daniel Sprouse Band, Double Barrell Band, and the Peacemakers.
“We all got our start at O’Briens in Plant City, so this is a homecoming of sorts,” says Clark. “Now we all run into each other at different bars and concerts and release parties, but we all know where we came from, and we’re proud of that.”
In addition to games and the Bar-B-Q cook-off with an additional bar setup outside, the bartenders at O’Brien’s will be serving all the green beer you can drink. The kitchen has cooked up some Irish specials, such as corn beef and cabbage. Live music is scheduled from 12:30 to 10 p.m. Skyler Clark will take the stage at 6:00 PM.
Everyone is encouraged to wear green and be ready to celebrate.
