Pasco-Hernando State College recently named Lisa Richardson, Ed.D., associate vice president of alumni and college relations/executive director of the PHSC Foundation; Ed Goolsby D.M., provost, East Campus; Marcia Austin, Ed.D., dean of workforce development, career and technical education; and Gerene Thompson, Ph.D., dean of arts and sciences.
Lisa Richardson, Ed.D., Associate Vice President of Alumni and College Relations/Executive Director of the PHSC Foundation

Lisa Richardson, Ed.D., succeeds recently retired William Shustowski, Ph.D., as executive director, PHSC Foundation, a role he held since 2013. Richardson began her new role as associate vice president of alumni and college relations/executive director of the PHSC Foundation on August 13. Most recently, she served as provost at the East Campus in Dade City. Prior to her appointment as provost, Richardson served as East Campus associate dean, assistant dean of developmental education, arts and sciences division at the district office in New Port Richey from 2010 to 2012 and Teaching-Learning Center coordinator at the North Campus in Brooksville, from 2008 to 2010. Richardson also served as a member of the College’s adjunct faculty from 1998 to 2008.
Richardson received a Doctor of Education in educational leadership from Argosy University, Phoenix, Ariz., a Master of Education in curriculum and instruction from National-Louis University, Evanston, Ill., and a Bachelor of Arts in education from the University of Florida, Gainesville, Fla.
Ed Goolsby, D.M., Provost, East Campus

Ed Goolsby, D.M., began his new role as provost, East Campus, August 13, 2018. Goolsby has served in various capacities at the College since 2007, including associate dean, North Campus; interim dean, arts and sciences, West Campus; and most recently, dean, workforce development (2011- 8/2018). Previously, he was campus director and interim campus provost at Central Florida Community College, Lecanto, Fla. and instructional program manager and research analyst at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa. He also was a higher education business and information technology instructor.
Goolsby earned his Doctor of Management in organizational leadership with a specialization in information systems technology at University of Phoenix, Master of Business Administration, Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in management information systems from USF, Tampa.
Marcia Austin, Ed.D., Dean of Workforce Development, Career, and Technical Education

Marcia Austin, Ed.D., was selected as the new dean of workforce development, career and technical education, effective August 20, 2018. Previously, Austin was employed with Hernando County Schools for 28 years, serving in the Hernando County Schools as a mathematics instructor, principal, interim assistant superintendent, and most recently, as the district supervisor of secondary programs where she served as the liaison administrator for dual enrollment programs between Hernando County Schools and Pasco-Hernando State College. She was an adjunct professor at PHSC for more than seven years.
Austin earned a Doctorate in education leadership and Education Specialist in education degree from NOVA Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; a Master of Science degree in education from Fordham University, Bronx, NY; and a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from St. Francis College, Brooklyn, NY.
Gerene Thompson, Ph.D., Dean of Arts and Sciences

Gerene Thompson, Ph.D., began her new role as dean of arts and sciences on August 6, 2018. Previously, she was the associate dean of academic affairs at Polk State College, Lakeland, Fla., since 2013. Prior to her tenure at Polk State College, she was the director of academic and student services, the assistant director of metro initiatives, and an admissions recruiter and advisor at USF, Tampa. In addition, she held the director of admissions position at the University of St. Martin, in St. Martin, Dutch West Indies. Thompson has teaching experience both from the University of St. Martin and from USF.
Thompson earned a Doctor of Philosophy in higher education, graduate certificates in leadership in higher education and college teaching, and Master of Education in curriculum and instruction, with a concentration in student affairs administration from USF, Tampa; Master of Arts in history from Midwestern State University, Wichita Falls, Texas; and Bachelor of Arts in pre-law/history from Barry University, Miami Shores, Fla.
