TAMPA, Fla. (September 5, 2018) – The employees of GTE Financial came together during the past month to raise more than $20,000 for one of Tampa Bay’s most enduring and significant charitable organizations. On Monday, they’ll celebrate this shared commitment by making a public gift to the Boys and Girls Club of Tampa.
The Boys and Girls Club of Tampa has over 90 years of service, providing a safe environment for youth between the ages of five and 18-years-old, after school, as an alternative to being on the streets or home alone. Serving over 3,000 kids daily and over 15,000 youth annually, the organization has become much more than just a place to hang out, it’s a place to help children get to college or a career.
Brian Best, President & CEO, GTE Financial, recognizes the critical role the organization plays in the lives of children and teens in communities around the nation. He said, “What the Boys and Girls Clubs do for children is provide hope and opportunity that someday they will also have a chance to be successful. They are helping our sons and daughters grow, keeping them from harm’s way, and helping them graduate high school and go on to college. These are our future neighbors, dentists, doctors, and family members.”
On Monday, September 10, GTE Financial will be presenting the Boys and Girls Club of Tampa with a check for over $20,000 to assist in their continued efforts of helping thousands of youth go to school or to a career.
