Pasco-Hernando State College will host an open house as well as a dedication ceremony to name the Rao Musunuru, M.D. Conference Center at its Spring Hill Campus, in Spring Hill, 450 Beverly Court, on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
Community members, faculty, staff and students are invited to attend this special event recognizing Dr. Musunuru’s service as a dedicated PHSC trustee since 1999, including four terms of service as board chair, as well as his significant contributions to the PHSC Foundation.
The PHSC District Board of Trustees voted to dedicate the conference center in Dr. Musunuru’s name. This tribute recognizes the renowned cardiologist’s commitment to the college and support of the PHSC Foundation, including the establishment of numerous student scholarships and the purchase of state-of-the-art instructional medical equipment for the college’s health care programs.
“Naming the Spring Hill Conference Center in Dr. Musunuru’s honor recognizes his dedication to PHSC, our students and the community—a testament to his accomplishments as a community leader, a trustee and philanthropist. His commitment to the mission of the college has benefitted countless students, many now employed locally as nurses, EMTs, radiologists and other medical specialists,” said PHSC President Timothy L. Beard, Ph.D.
Dignitaries slated to speak at the event include Robin Schneider, chair, District Board of Trustees, Greg Lenners, chair, PHSC Foundation Board of Directors, and Florida Senator Wilton Simpson. A ribbon cutting, led by Patricia Crowley, president/CEO of the Greater Hernando Chamber of Commerce, will conclude the ceremony.
Tours of the Spring Hill Campus will be available before and after the dedication ceremony. Refreshments will be provided. Those interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP by Tuesday, September 18 at phsc.edu/about-phsc/events.
