Pasco County Tax Collector Mike Fasano’s Offices Accepting Donations for The ROPE Center

August 30, 2018 by Post

During the month of September The ROPE Center will be the featured charitable giving organization at the Pasco County Tax Collector’s Office. ROPE stands for Resource, Outreach, Prayer and Empowerment. The goal of The ROPE Center is to provide shelter, transitional housing, food, clothing and other needs of single men and women. The transitional housing facility, located in Hudson, is divided by gender. 24 otherwise homeless people live at the facility at any one time. Plans are underway to expand the shelter by adding an additional 40 beds.

“This is a 90 day program,” comments Pastor Sue Campbell, Vice-President of The ROPE Center. “During a stay, clients will participate in programs and workshops developed to promote self-sufficiency and personal development. The ROPE Center works with clients to help them transition into a more permanent housing situation. On-site case workers develop, in cooperation with clients, an extensive goal-oriented program. The donations we receive from this fundraiser will enable us to offer additional shelter nights and services. This program is a cost-effective means of helping the homeless at a time when shelters are struggling just to make ends meet.”

“The ROPE Center is one of the hidden gems in Pasco County,” states Tax Collector Mike Fasano. “The wonderful people who run this charity, Pastors Jim & Sue Campbell, do so with little fanfare or media attention, yet they get the job done. What is impressive to me is that residents must have a plan, and must meet the goals on that plan, to continue living at the homeless shelter. I encourage anyone who is interested in helping the homeless get back on their feet to stop by one of our offices and make a donation. This organization is the perfect example of a little going a long way to bring help to those most in need.”
