
Spring Hill, Florida (August 21, 2018) – Hernando Orthopaedic & Spinal Surgery announces that Michael W. Higgins, DO, was recently recognized by Bishop McLaughlin High School for providing physicals over the summer to its students. He, Dr. Ross Currier, and Mary Cunningham, ARNP, gave time to help students by providing physicals at a reduced rate and then donated the fees they collected back to Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School’s athletic department. Over 30 physicals were provided, which raised over $300 In making the announcement, officials at the school stated, “It’s relationships like these that make Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School such an amazing place. Thank you so much for all you do to make Bishop great.”

Michael W. Higgins, D.O. is board certified in orthopaedic surgery.
Dr. Higgins is a graduate of the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Nova Southeastern University in North Miami Beach. Dr. Higgins is a native of Florida who completed a spinal surgery Fellowship at the prestigious New York University/Hospital for Joint Diseases. Dr. Higgins completed his residency at Peninsula Hospital Consortium in New York. Prior to his residency, he served as Chief Intern at Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah, Florida. Dr. Higgins served with the Hurricane Andrew Relief and Cuban Refugee Assistance Teams.
