New Port Richey Takes Part in National Drive Electric Week with Electric Tailgate Party

August 21, 2018 by Post

WHAT: Dozens of New Port Richey area electric vehicle drivers and enthusiasts will be celebrating National Drive Electric Week with an Electric Tailgate Party on September 8th from 10:00am to 2:00pm in the Sims Park/Gloria Swanson Parking lot.  Everyone is invited to join in celebrating over a quarter of a million electric miles driven, view electric vehicles, including electric bikes and to highlight the clean-air benefits and cost-savings of electric cars. The event is part of the fifth annual National Drive Electric Week.

Plug-in vehicles by Nissan and other automakers may be available for test ride-and-drives, and EV chargers and products will be on display.

New Port Richey’s event is one of more than 280 across the country (and around the world) where electric vehicle owners and their neighbors will hold electric car parades, “tailpipe-free” tailgate parties, recognition of leaders promoting EVs, launches of new public EV charging stations and other public events.

WHEN: SATURDAY September 8th, 2018

WHERE: Sims Park/Gloria Swanson Parking Lot Downtown New Port Richey

The City of New Port Richey is organizing the Electric Vehicle Tailgate Party with Plug In America, the Sierra Club and the Electric Auto Association as national organizers. The Nissan LEAF® is the exclusive national automotive sponsor.
